At MAISON AMÉVIE, fit is not an afterthought, it is an architectural decision. Our pieces are cut to specific silhouette standards. The following guide exists to ensure that the garment you receive performs exactly as designed.

How to Measure

Use a soft measuring tape. Measure directly against the body, over light underwear. Do not hold the tape taut, allow it to sit flush without tension. All measurements below are in centimetres.

  • Bust: Measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping the tape parallel to the floor.
  • Waist: Measure around the narrowest point of the natural waist, typically 2–3 cm above the navel.
  • Hips: Measure around the fullest part of the hips, approximately 20 cm below the natural waist.

Blazers & Jackets, Cassandre, Noémie, Elviane

Cassandre & Elviane: Fit true to size. The structured construction is engineered for a precise, authoritative line. If you are between sizes, size up to preserve the integrity of the shoulder seam and lapel. This is not a blazer that benefits from excess room, it is one that rewards precision.

Noémie: Designed with intentional volume. Order your standard size for the full sculptural effect. Sizing up creates a more architectural, deliberately oversized silhouette.

Dresses, Isaline & Others

Our dresses fit true to size. The structured waist is cut for a precise fit, not elasticated. We recommend measuring your natural waist before ordering. When between sizes, order your smaller size for the intended silhouette.

Blouses & Tops, Nocturne, Éviane & Others

Designed with intentional volume. Order your standard size for the full, sculptural effect as designed by the house. Sizing up produces an even more architectural result, deliberate, never accidental.

Between Sizes?

We advise based on your individual measurements. Write to us at shop@maisonamevie.com with your bust, waist, and hip measurements and the piece you are considering. We will respond within one business day with a specific recommendation.

Care Instructions

  • Woven suiting pieces (blazers, jackets): Dry clean only. Store on a structured hanger to preserve shoulder integrity.
  • Chiffon & gauze pieces (Nocturne and similar): Hand wash in cold water with a gentle detergent, or dry clean. Do not wring. Lay flat to dry.
  • Knit & stretch pieces: Hand wash cold. Reshape while damp. Do not tumble dry.
  • All pieces: Store away from direct sunlight. Do not iron directly on embellishments or sheer panels, use a pressing cloth.
